On May 14, 2012 in the main office of Public assembly the meeting of Executive Council of Public Assembly took place. 
"We are congratulating every war weteran and whole Georgian population with the Day of Victory over fashism- May 9. Georgia had its own share in this victory. 700 000 Georgians were fighting and 300 000 never retuned home in order to save country and the world from Nazis” adresed the leader of “Democratic Movement”, Nino Burjanadze veterans gathered in Victory park.
“We wanted to make May 26 as a Day of solidarity to the people who were and is still fighting against Saakashvili’s regime. First of all to commemorate the people killed on May 26, 2011. Unfortunately we have got the result that all events were postponed.”
xander Chikvaidze was one of the best representative modern Georgian diplomatic corps who after difficult times in Georgian history greatly contributed to the formation and profesionalization of Ministry of forign affairs.
On May 6 is St Georges Day for many Cristians. “Democratic Movement” congratulates with this holly St George Day.
The situation in Georgian Penitenciarry system is alarming. There are almost daily facts of torture and violation of human rights. During last year 144 persons died in the prisons. Same time the minister does not feel even minor responsibility for the situation.
“Democratic Movement” expresses the condolences to the families of victims of terrorist attack in Dagestan. As a result of terrorist attack 12 persons died and hundreds have got injured. Terrorism remains common threat for entire world.
Fortunatly Georgia has lot of people country is really proud of. One of those is actor Gia Burjanadze who is real example of Georgian man and patriot. “democratic Movement” congratulates him with the birthday and wishes him health, success and peaceful and free Georgia.
“Democratic Movement” congratulates legendary chess player, the chairperson of Public Assembly Nona Gaprindashvili with the Birthday. During her life she brought lots of joy and happiness to the country. That is why for entire country she was just Nona. After being most long serving world Champion in Chess she always been an example of right citizen and true patriot.
