Nino Burjanadze shared her views over the recent developments with the audience.

The meeting made special emphasis on so called “series of detentions”. It was noted that impudence of the Authorities had gone beyond limits, and for the public, the methods used by the Authorities to fight political opponents are offending.
“Darbazi” members were given an opportunity to view “Kviris Reportazhi” (Weekly Report) program by GNS, which was aired by Kavaksia TV company, and which covered details obtained by independent journalists, as well as chronological order of events related to the recent development.

“Darbazi” meeting participants noted that the issues covered by the program are of significant importance, and it is necessary for the entire population of Georgia to see it.

“Taking into consideration that Kavkasia TV company coverage does not extend beyond Tbilisi, it is necessary to have “Kviris Reportazhi” broadcast by Public Broadcaster, so that the entire population of Georgia can see both versions of “the series of detentions” – those made by the Government, as well as by independent journalists” – said the members of “Darbazi”.

“Darbazi” is a consultative- representative body of the Democratic Movement - United Georgia, which aims at examining key issues existing in the country, development of timely recommendations on them and supporting their practical implementation.

“Darbazi” is represented by distinguished professionals and patriots of our country.

“We are meeting many people and hearing their views. Vast majority of our population is putting forward their demand of changing the Government. I want to stand by my people, and have all my resources serve my country. 9th April is the day of utmost importance for the future of our country” – said Mrs. Burjanadze.

“There are people who would like to express their opinion, but they cannot manage to come to Tbilisi. We should give our citizens the opportunity to express their protest. Rallies should be held nation-wide. This is the demand of our society” – said Mr. Igor Kvesitadze, Political Analyst.

“Public is seeing that the President and his team have exhausted their governance capacities. We want to believe that the President will make the right decision by following people’s will and stepping down” – said the members of “Darbazi” attending the meeting.
