Graduated in 1984 from Tbilisi State Medical University Department of Medical Rehabilitation; continued studies at the International Youth Institute in the field of law;

Holds a degree of the Candidate of Medical Sciences’;

At various occasions worked as the Head of Tskhaltubo Department for Functional Diagnostics of the Georgian Research Institute of Balneology, Deputy Chief Doctor of “Tbilisi” Sanatorium, and the Chief Doctor of “Samgurali” Sanatorium.

2004-2007 served as the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and the General Director of the State Social Fund.

Coordinator of State Programs at IC Group Insurance Company since 2008;

Member of the Parliament of 1995 year convocation.
