Valery Gelbakhiani became refugee of political regime of Saakashvili and he does not represent any threat to society. That is why nobody should hinder him to see his family.

“Democratic Movement” demands once more the publicity and transparency of investigation materials regarding the tragic death of Zurab Jvania. February 3 is 7th anniversary from the tragic death of the Prime Minister of Georgia, one of the leaders of Rose revolution Zurab Jvania. The public has grounded doubts regarding the official version of the authorities and has right to know truth in this regard.

 

 

Statement of Main Council of “Democratic Movement”

On January when the representatives of youth organizations where holding peaceful protest action to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the murder of Sandro Girgvliani demanding implementation of the Strasburg court decision on investigation and punishment of the guilty ones, the police arrested several representatives of the protest action. Democratic Movement condemns the arrest of participants of peaceful protest action and demands immediate release of them.

On December 23, 2010 the chairman “Democratic Movement-United Georgia”, Nino Burjanadze met Patriarch of Russia Kiril II.The patriarch of Russia stated during the meeting that none of the Georgian or Russian politicians who harmed the relationship between the two nations, will not succeed. The relationship between Georgian and Russian nations will be restored and this relationship has a future.
