Main Board of the "Democratic Movement" declares that Mikhail Saakashvili who have not done anything for the democratic development of Georgia and is personally the reason of the political crisis within the country, tries to portray himself as leading figure in the region and to resolve the problems of other countries.

Many times with irresponsible statements he jeopardized the relations of our country with its neighbors. Even now with direct involvement in the internal affairs of the friendly, sovereign country he puts in danger the image of Georgia and reputation of the one of the candidates of the Ukrainian Presidency he supposed to support.  

Due to the fact that under shield of the western values Mikhail Saakashvili acts in contrarily, we suspect that in this case in Ukraine is matter of intentional provocation.

Yesterday by media become public the details of phone conversation between the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia Vano Merabishvili and the Head of Parliamentary Committee of Defense and Security Givi Targamadze. The conversation on the illegal and forceful involvement in the presidential elections of Ukraine is clear evidence of illegal interference in the internal affairs of sovereign nation.

We demand from the minister the clear answer on authenticity of this conversation.

The statement of former head of Central Electoral committee of Georgia Levan Tarkhnishvili can be evaluated only as a cynicism that he found an alternative for Georgian "observers” by obtaining the false identity cards of journalists.

The authority, whose representative threatens to blow up the city of Donetsk, accuses us being radical for having constitutional demand of resignation of the president and early presidential elections.

After all of this The democratic Movement is asking the question, within and outside a country, who has an illusion that Saakashvili and his regime will held a democratic elections? The arguments are vague of those who declare that it is meaningful to participate in the election during the present illicit regime.

Just due to similar facts in past and present, our position is clear that in order to avoid further problems and difficulties for our country is essential to organize the early presidential elections.
