Mrs. Nino Burjanadze met James Steinberg and Philip Gordon
On February 5 the chairperson of “Democratic Movement-United Georgia”, Mrs. Nino Burjanadze and other opposition leaders met Deputy State Secretary James Steinberg and assistant to the State Secretary Philip Gordon.

During meeting Mrs. Nino Burjanadze brought on the agenda all problematic issues of the country, especially issues of political prisoners, non-existence of democratic environment and conflict regions.

After the meeting Mrs. Nino Burjanadze declared that for the current administration of the US is not important for Georgia just an image of being friend of US but real democratic steps to be made by Georgian Government.

According to the chairperson of “Democratic Movement” during the talks with American guests she underlined that there were not a single positive or democratic step made by current government during the past one year.

“Georgian people is waiting for the results of the notable backstage work and pressure from US administration in order to have real democratic environment and stability in the country”_ stated Mrs. Nino Burjanadze.
