On February 4 took place the informal meeting between the chairperson of “Democratic Movement-United Georgia” and the Chairman of Venice commission Janni Bukikio.

During the meeting were discussed the ongoing processes in Georgia and recent legislative changes, which are in reality steps backwards for Georgia. 

During the meeting was mentioned that there is a serious problem even with implementation of existed laws. Acording to Janni Bukikio it is very important and even essential serious improvement of the Constitution of Georgia.

During the meeting Mrs. Nino Burjanadze and Janni Bukikio recalled the meeting back in 2005 when President Saakashvili promised both of them the amendments in constitution in order to restore the balance between executive and legislative brunches which is not done so far.

“I gave to the Chairman of Venice commission the broad information not only on legislative reality, but on general situation regarding democracy as well” _ stated Mrs. Nino Burjanadze.

In addition She asked Janni bukikio to inform his European colleagues on situation in Georgia.
