Archil Gegeshidze: “This is one of the rare cases such document is prepared not within the Government”
In his assessment of the Essential Aspects of National Security Concept developed by independent experts and members of Democratic Movement, expert Archil Gegeshidze comments it is one of the rare cases of such document being prepared by entities other than the Government, and national security being systematically analyzed and conceptualized reflecting the existing reality and the country’s future plans.
“The Government often blames our opposition parties for not having any alternative view about the existing situation and for building their speeches only on criticizing the ruling regime. Today we have seen a new, impartial and very interesting document developed by Democratic Movement; we have seen that the party possesses both its own intellectual potential and capability to attract such potential, which makes a good model for future cooperation.”

“It would have been wrong of us to want the Concept be in the form of an action plan as it is the Government who is in charge of defining such action plans,” Archil Gegeshidze said.
