Nodar Khaduri: The surprises of the year 2010
While government of Saakashvili is busy with intervening in internal affairs of sovereign country and with organization of different “spectacles” in different regions of Georgia, Georgian population in addition to the other problems is facing socio-economical difficulties.

It is not difficult to notice that on the consumers market there is 10% rise of prices on fuel, sugar, vegetable oil etc. the prices on Tobago got higher as well and exchange course of Lari became worse.
It is obvious in Georgia we have subjects with monopoly power on the market or it is the matter of illegal agreements on the market. On competing market such a rise of prices is impossible especially there are no agricultural activities of the spring or boom of transportation which may cause the rise of the prices on the fuel.

Taking into consideration the above mentioned the issue of the implementation of the antimonopoly legislation becomes essential. Only it can guarantee the defense of the consumer interests and will avoid the use of monopoly situation and illegal agreements on the prize.

Most probably the certain groups in government are interested with non-existence of the antimonopoly legislation. It is a fact that government does not plan any changes in this direction and is only busy with PR campaign to mislead the people and gain some electoral support.
